Road Construction

Getting to Dan's During Hwy 50 Construction
We're Open!
Phase 1 construction is still underway, and Phase 2 is now in progress. With work happening on both sides of Highway 50, the usual routes to Dan’s are changing.
For now, the north and south routes are the best ways to reach us. As with any construction project, conditions and access can change from day to day, so please check for the latest updates before each visit.
Coming from the East & Hastings
If you’re coming from Hastings, Cottage Grove, Miesville, Red Wing, or anywhere east of Dan’s, there are a couple of ways to get here.
-
From Highway 61 / Miesville / Red Wing:
-
At the Highway 61 closure, turn left onto Highway 20, then right onto Highway 29, followed by another right onto Hogan Avenue.
-
This is a fully paved route to Dan’s.
-
-
From Hastings:
-
Take Goodwin Avenue, then turn left onto either 220th Street or 230th Street. Follow either road to Hogan Avenue, then turn right to reach Dan’s.
-
Please note: Portions of 220th Street, 230th Street, and Hogan Avenue are gravel roads.
-
Goodwin is closed from County Road 46 to 180th, so your best route is to take County Rd 47 to Goodwin
-
Coming from the West (Highway 52)
Option 1: Through Vermillion
-
Turn east onto 190th Street from Highway 52 and continue through Vermillion. Turn right onto Goodwin Avenue, then left onto either 220th Street or 230th Street, followed by a right onto Hogan Avenue to reach Dan's.
-
Please note: Portions of 220th, 230th, and Hogan are gravel roads.
Option 2: Exit 106
-
Take Exit 106 (County Road 47) off Highway 52. Turn right onto Goodwin Avenue, then left onto either 220th Street or 230th Street, followed by a right onto Hogan Avenue.
-
Please note: Portions of 220th, 230th, and Hogan are gravel roads.
Option 3: All-Paved Route
-
If you'd rather stay on pavement, continue south on Highway 52 to Exit 100 (County Road 86). Head east on County Road 86, then turn left onto Hogan Avenue, which will bring you north into New Trier and right to Dan's.
A Favor to Our Neighbors
Some of these alternate routes travel along quiet local roads that typically see very little through traffic. We kindly ask that you watch your speed, drive carefully, and be respectful of the neighbors who live along these roads.
Thank You for Supporting Dan's
A significant portion of our business normally comes from travelers passing through on Highway 50. During construction, that traffic will be greatly reduced.
If you've been meaning to stop by, now is a great time. Every visit, meal, and drink helps, and we truly appreciate your support while the road work is underway.
Check Back for Updates
Construction conditions can change, and we'll keep this page updated with the latest information throughout the project. Before heading our way, please check this page for the most current road and access information.
Thank you for making the trip. We can't wait to see you at Dan's!
